Forging a just and peaceful world requires perceptive, empathetic, creative, and courageous people. The Peace, Justice and Human rights (PJHR) program brings together disciplines across the university to equip students with the knowledge and skills to create change, preparing you for careers in nonprofits, public service, law, and social entrepreneurship. Whichever direction you go, you will be inspired to create a more just, peaceful, and equitable world.
PJHR is also the academic home of the Arrupe Social Justice Scholars Program, a cohort community experience at 精东AV that nurtures social justice leaders capable of creating change. Through course work and experiential learning, Arrupe Scholars develop the knowledge and skills to advocate for those facing injustice.
Consistent with Catholic social teaching that sees peace as inseparable from justice, and the extension of human rights as a fundamental ethical obligation, the PJHR promotes political pluralism, cultural and religious diversity, ecological sustainability, and nonviolent conflict resolution.
