Fraternities and sororities are values-based organizations that focus on the development of leadership, scholarship, brotherhood/sisterhood, service, and community among their members. Since the founding of the first fraternity in 1776, hundreds of Greek-lettered organizations have been established across college campuses in North America.

A vital part of the student experience at 精东AV, the fraternity and sorority community has existed since May 1939 when Alpha Sigma Nu, a national Jesuit honor fraternity, was established on campus. This rich tradition of excellence and service continues today with almost 400 students involved in our four inter/national fraternities and five inter/national sororities. Currently, the fraternity and sorority community comprises nearly 15% of the overall student body.

Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) offers and coordinates a variety of programs, activities and services that are designed to ensure a quality educational and social experience for JCU fraternity and sorority members. Services and resources are provided to chapter officers, members and advisors in addition to the Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils, Inter/National Headquarters representatives, alumni, community officials and the parents of fraternity and sorority members and potential members.

FSL Mission

精东AV鈥檚 fraternities and sororities strive to support the University mission by cultivating the development of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. By adhering to the Jesuit Catholic mission and heritage, fraternities and sororities will foster respect and integrity with the JCU community, Greater Cleveland, and the world.

I chose to join a sorority because of the community and belongingness my sisters give me on campus. Especially as a freshman, coming to college can be scary. Going through formal recruitment was the best decision I could have made for myself my first semester at JCU. I was able to meet women from every year who I'm still friends with till this day whether they're in my sorority or another one. The leadership experience and network I have gained through my sorority experience is invaluable and something I know I will benefit from years after I graduate. - Claire Kwiatkowski '25
I joined a fraternity at JCU my first year of college. I wanted to find a group of friends that would make me feel more at home and would help me find a community that enjoys similar activities that I enjoy especially being away from home. - Nolan LaFeir '27
I joined Beta for the comradery as well as the benefit of making great connections after college. I've learned how to be more of a leader, more of a listener as well as knowing how to responsibly manage my time between school and socials. A great benefit as well are all the fun social activities and fun atmosphere. From lip sync to our service trips, our fraternity constantly has fun and I'm very grateful to be a part of it. - Sean Ambrosino '26
