Clinical and Counseling Psychology

The Clinical and Counseling Psychology concentration, formerly known as the Mental Health Services concentration, provides a foundation for understanding how people handle stress, relate to others, and make life choices. A B.S. degree will lead to jobs as substance abuse counselors, behavior technicians, residential treatment specialists, intake specialists, youth counselors or eating disorders technicians, to name just a few. Graduate degrees and licensure is required for some career options, such as clinical counseling, social work and other related fields.

The 听details course requirements for the C&C concentration as well as the semesters each course is offered. Students should follow the checklist according to their JCU entry year. The degree plan will ensure students meet all Psychology major, C&C concentration and University core requirements are met for graduation. Minimum of 42 credit hours for Psychology and 120 total credit hours for graduation.

C&C students complete internships at a wide variety of sites, gaining valuable experience and references.
