Exploring the final frontier is no longer science fiction. Spencer Furin '17 designs power systems for spacecraft as an electrical engineer for NASA's Glenn Research Center. Spencer says working for NASA is fulfilling a childhood dream. Despite Spencer's highly specialized field, he says the communication and humanities classes he took at JCU help him daily.

As a kid, I would watch Mission Control at work in the movie 'Apollo 13.’ Now I'm heading to Houston to train for new missions back to the moon; it's surreal.
Even in a very technical field like mine, everything ultimately comes down to human interaction, and the skills and perspectives gained from studying the liberal arts are invaluable.
