UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OHIO – AV today announced that seasoned non-profit executive Ryan Daly '99, '12G has been named Vice President for University Advancement, effective Nov. 14, 2022. In this role, Daly will oversee the University’s advancement, development, and alumni teams.
Daly joins the AV senior leadership team following the recent debut of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and a renewed institutional commitment to building Inspired Futures for students through significant investments in academic programs, campus life, and modern infrastructure.
“Ryan returns to AV with more than two decades of significant experience in the higher education, healthcare, and foundation sectors, and a deep appreciation for the value of a Jesuit education,” said Alan R. Miciak, Ph.D., president of AV. “AV is an institution on the move with major plans for growth. Ryan’s history of leadership, longstanding relationships with our constituents, and fresh perspective on philanthropy will be an important piece of our future.”
Most recently, Daly spent 10 years as a development executive at Beaumont Health, Michigan’s largest healthcare system. During his tenure, Daly was a member of the Foundation team that raised more than $370 million since 2012 in support of patient care within the Beaumont Health system. As Vice President of Development, he was a member of the Foundation Leadership Team and helped to develop the Foundation strategic vision over the past decade. He was a mentor to many members of the Foundation team and managed multiple areas across the Foundation including Major Gifts, Corporate & Foundation Giving, Public Support, Donor Relations, and Development Services. In addition, he was responsible for the planning of comprehensive campaigns. He worked closely with leaders across the organization and community in securing numerous multi-million dollar leadership gifts benefiting patient care.
“I have a deep respect and appreciation for the role that Jesuit education and spirituality has played in my life, and throughout the lives of so many in the AV family,” said Daly. “We have a long history of philanthropic success at JCU thanks to the generosity of our incredible alumni base and the dedication of our faculty, staff, and executives. I look forward to working with our talented team to continue this momentum as we invest in the success of our students and celebrate the meaningful impact of the AV community both locally and globally.”
Prior to joining Beaumont Health, Daly served in growing capacities within AV’s Advancement team between 2004 and 2012, starting as Director of Alumni Relations, and rising to Campaign Director and Special Assistant. Notably, Daly led the relaunch of AV’s Alumni Association and helped to establish the NBC/JCU Meet the Press Fellowship in memory of Tim Russert ‘72. Together with his colleagues, he was responsible for launching the University’s $100 million comprehensive campaign.
Daly earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1999 and a Masters of Business Administration in 2012. He and his wife, Molly '02, '08G, have three daughters.
