A luncheon discussion with Rabbi Barry Kleinberg on Thursday, January 30, 12:00-1:00pm, in the Alumni Lounge (third floor Rodman Hall). A light lunch of Kosher Chinese will be provided. No RSVP required. The topic of discussion will be: "New Taxonomies of Religious Truth"
Are existing taxonomies (e.g., Exclusivism, Inclusivism, and Pluralism) sufficiently clear to understand the various truth claims of different faiths? Or are there new categories which will not only help us to deal with conflicting truth claims but also with shared truth claims as well?
Rabbi Barry Kleinberg is a London School of Jewish Studies Teaching Fellow, osteopath and a Sacks Scholar. He is researching Pluralism and Universalism for his PhD at the University of Haifa.
This event is sponsored by the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Chair in Jewish Studies at the Department of Theology and Religious Studies.
